Text.

No, I have not perished in the fires of hell. I started training for my new job-o yesterday and will continue to be consumed by it probably for the next week or so. I apologize to you frequent readers for the significant gaps in posting, but I'm not about to ask my 80+ grandmother to start snapping shots of my outfits--HA! Please bare with me until I get back into the swing of things. Thank you to all who continue to visit!

Imitation Nation.

I disassembled an ill-fitting bow tie a couple of nights ago in preparation to imitate a necklace shown to me by a friend over the weekend:

Phenomenon

It was obviously a complicated project considering the laborious minute I spent fastening the chain to the tie and then struggling to clasp the chain together. Hand me a viscose Wang t-shirt and some soiled chinos and BAM; I'm an imprisoned child sewing buttons on a pair of Forever 21 skinny jeans in a decrepit factory infamously located on the hard-knock streets of Connecticut.

When I threw on the second one, I imagined being victim to some sort of freak accident where the inch-long sharp tip somehow stabbed me to death due to my reaction from meeting Magdalena Frackowiak at Subway. The industrial safety pin obviously beckoned to be strung onto a rotting rope chain, which always leaves a nice metal-y scent on your clavicles.

The marble effect at Rodarte, 80s Manhattan and monstrous shoulders at Marc Jacobs, the Alexander Wang girl is 'growing up', & pom poms at DVF. Did I miss anything ... important? I'd rather dip my head in a bucket of syphilis than stand to review the rest of the Fall 09 collections. That's why we have EDITORS, people!

Haha please disregard everything I said in this post.

Photos from lunch with my sister and our darling Reggie a couple of days ago. I was browsing through lookbook, and it looks like a lot of stylish teens are wearing dream-catchers as statement necklaces nowadays. I don't know how I feel about it yet, but I do know that the dream-catcher necklace works well with themed-dressers .... if that makes any sense.

A couple hours after I publish this post, the Fall shows will be in full force. I've read everywhere that some designers have canceled their shows due to the economic crisis, and for those who are showing, their invite list has been cut in half. Designers are also cutting down on models (15 instead of the usual 25) and switching to more affordable venues. It is a sad sad time for this country, but I am confident that this recession is something we can all overcome. Anyway, I'll be scouring the runways for Diandra Forrest and Rose Cordero, both supremely beautiful but definitely individual in appearance.

My heart is beating irregularly while I wait for Nicholas Ghesquiere to show.
& if you didn't catch it, photos from this post and the one below were taken on the same day.

(Reggie's glasses, studded cross V-neck, FTL long johns, thrifted BDU boots, faux-tortoise bracelet, rosary bracelet, & F21 snake-chain necklace as bracelet)

Is it just me, or do any of you (drivers) evolve into vehicular terrorists when other drivers make it a point to be dirty chocolate starfishes on the road? Things that I WILL NOT TOLERATE on asphalt:
  • People who drive at 30 MPH in a 45 MPH zone, especially on the left lane
  • Slow MFers period
  • Drivers over 50 years old
  • Overconfident pedestrians
  • People on their cellphones while driving
  • Bass speakers blasted at an obnoxious volume
  • Drivers under 18
  • Drivers in busted up pick-ups trying to race you when the light turns green
  • Drivers who don't signal (I will sooo honk at you!)
  • Drivers with their brights on at night (This happens to be a high-ranking pet-peeve as well)
  • Double-parkers
  • NO PARKING ZONE parkers
  • Busses/Trucks/Rigs in turning lanes
  • Drivers who ride my tail (It's called brake check, & don't think I won't use it.)
I mean, I'm no speedster but c'mon guys, drive with the flow of traffic. I feel considerably bitchy today for personal reasons, and I apologize for it's obvious appearance in my tone of voice. I seriously need to learn how to brush off vindictive acts from people with whom I have absolutely no association.

On a lighter note, I was pretty stoked when I threw on my studded t-shirt today, except I don't remember it being so heavy. I might have to get accustomed to the jingling though. I remember telling myself a couple of months back, "I will not succumb to this laughable drop-crotch trend," but oh what powers a suspended crotch hold. I already have an idea to cut my own patterns and just have a seamstress sew the pieces together. Half-baked ideas, anyone?

HIYA FOLKS!

I'm feeling a little lethargic with words today, so hopefully some photos will suffice. Oh, & I totally got a day job at Chili's over the weekend. 10 hour days anyone?

01.31.09

YO.

So it's 5.26 AM, about two hours before I'm supposed to wake up--stupid melatonin. On four hours of sleep, here's my schedule for the day:

8:30AM-10AM > Grocery run
11AM-2PM > Friends nursing graduation
3:20PM > Interview
4PM-9PM > Work

Am I bitching, or DO YA FEEL ME? Haha. I swear you guys, the fashion bug refuses to bite me because I have no urge to review the couture collections. I guess I've just been focused on other more life-changing situations rather than worrying about how many sequins it takes to construct a Dior gown. But worry not; I'm sure I'll return to my irrevocable fashion obsessions in no time.

Anyweezie, I was compelled by some intangible force Wednesday night to stud something, anything actually. Finally after considering my materials, I unzipped and my virginity was siezed by a stud, pun intended. I have read a couple of YOUR posts about how impossible it is to stud in perfect lines, and honestly my reaction was "these suckers are just lazy and impatient!" Haha I give you a pass to underestimate me. I seriously sat on my bed forever, dumbfounded by this perceivably easy task as my first row was haphazard. Then after an hour or so, I finished and so became the cross on my left bosom, an explicit ode to Hester Prynne. Haha okay I'll stop.

Ralphy's.

After reviewing this entry, I am sore from whiplash due to my schizophrenic tone of voice. Excuse me.

Hey sexies. I apologize for the gaps in my posts. It's quite hard to take a half-decent picture without a photographer at my beckoning call. All of you should know that I am an old hag who would prefer to stay home than go out and be a club-whore. The rare times I do find myself out, I purposely overdress to ensure my presence is recognized. Ha, is my nose too far in the air? The gay clubs here are usually unwelcoming, with their unnecessary cover charges, i'm-better-than-you bartenders, and bitchy atmospheres, so I'm always down to go a chill place with humorous heteros. Besides, I realized that the eye-candy at straight bars is much more bountiful than the sad selection of cruisers at your local Euphoria. Also, it never hurts to sit between three neck-breakingly beautiful women, all of whom attract the sexiest MFers GU. has to offer.

Grab your tissues girls. I must mention that my heart is being seized by the handsomest creation of man my eyes have ever seen. I've allowed myself to produce this perfect idea that every time I look at him, I smile for absolutely no reason, or when we fight it would stem from something incredibly silly. I further produce a scene of him waking up in my arms and leaning over to give my forehead the softest of kisses, so soft that when I finally awake, it would infer the end to an amazing night's sleep and the beginning of the most beautiful day with someone for whom my love was infinite.

UGHH I'm such a damn sap. And I better just stop now before my glasses fog over. Hilarious. Now here's the knee-slapper, I know nothing about him because we've never met, though I'm sure if I ever did meet him, I would collapse to the floor like obesity just struck me because his smell, his presence, hell his powerful yet subtle sex appeal would intoxicate my normal state of mind.

Anyway, moving on to G-rated content. My sister is coming back from a trip to the Phillipines with her godparents in a few hours, and I am a little more than excited to paw at the bounty of her purchases, because I know homegirl better had bought something for me!

& if you are piddling in anticipation for NY Fall 2009, piddle a little more here.
