Goodness I'm glad to have a beautiful sister! haha. She thought she looked like a geek with the glasses on (which were my intentions in styling this look), but I happen to think she pulled them off quite well. She wanted to change, and this is what I came up with. Oh, sorry about the horrible lighting. I wanted to catch her with the sun going down; unfortunately, darkness had already fallen and homegirl took WAYYY too long to get ready anyway.

BALENCIAGA madness.
The time is here people. Nicholas Ghesquiere finally showed earlier today in Paris. I'm literally reviewing the collection as I type. Despite her public announcements to retire, Natalia Vodianova opened the show for the brand in a very structured, sublty-ruched dusty rose-colored dress with an impression directly atop her stomach. In the honest words of bryanboy, care bears is dat chu? Now that I have seen the entire collection, I have come to the conclusion that Ghesquiere's aesthetic for the brand from season to season is futurism. Even before his Futurism collection in Spring of '07, his pieces were always synonymous with the aesthetic.
This season though, Ghesquiere used skin-tight bodysuits under every look, awkward yet visually stimulating panelling for most of his bodices and even his pants, and at first glance, very confusing shoes--they actually reminded of marc jacobs' misplaced heel shoe as far as theory. Anyway, what confounded me was that the foot part of the bodysuit was exposed, but you could see the heel and the platform sitting directly under the foot as if it was a part of our anatomy. I mean HELLER! It's pretty amazing. Another surprising element on the Balenciaga runway was that Ghesquiere added a total of seven menswear looks to his usually all-women show.

The second look is my favorite simply because of the neckline.

Christian Louboutin for Rodarte SS09
It's probably quite late for this shoe post, but c'mon, it's freakin' Rodarte. Unfortunately, I don't remember anything from the collection except these chain-linked bad boys, and of course Abbey Lee getting some face time with the cement. LEVVVS it! But don't you think these shoes are a little reminiscent of Balenciaga's futurism collection? I'm just saying. And why do I continuously find myself referencing the brand? Because Ghesquiere's a mother effing genius.

EPIPHANIES, but not really.
I feel like a considerable amount of designers for this Spring season have referenced Nicholas Ghesquiere's structured silhouettes from Balenciaga's Spring '08 collection. I think because Ghesquiere constructed most of his tops with an exaggerated cap shoulder, designers want to keep reinventing it, personally without success so far. Though, I think the evolution of Fashion Week has convinced designers to have a general idea that clothes should continue to be reinvented without ever having them first become timeless. I mean honestly, what people have the financial backing to continually 'refurbish' the contents in their closets from season to season other than the fashion elite and celebrities? This subject has forced me to think about why the fashion industry is so highly coveted amongst the norm of a general public, and I have finally arrived at the obvious theory that it is the exclusivity of the brand that empowers this very industry. You wouldn't just stumble across MMM's Incognito sunglasses at Macy's; then again, I wouldn't be surprised if street-vendors started selling them in a couple months thanks to our enslaved workers in the third-world.
Marni SS09
I just thought this picture was painfully entertaining, and if I have to point out why, just shoot me.
Lastly, I am angrily waiting for Balenciaga & Lanvin to show. Hurry up boys!

Lamp Posts
i feel like everybody atleast once should have a photoshoot at night.
My mom, my sister and I went to a birthday party earlier this evening, and this is what we wore. Question: Do you fashion bloggers feel awkward when you're trying to take a picture in the street and people are suddenly becoming in your vicinity? I sure as hell do. =]

Mom's pants
I think this photo is quite hilarious actually.
here's why:
-I'm trying to be like rumi or any of you other fierce posers (the good kine poser!) out there.
-and I am SOOO wearing my mom's pants ... for the sake of this post. ha!
& I'm going to have a BryanBoy moment and have a BF about my skin--my cheeks are completely unfortunate looking [you can probably tell a fraction by the picture] as of the moment and have been for the past morethanfew months. I have heard of countless amounts of remedies, but lethargy consumes my ability to even start an acne solution. UGH whatevs.
Random, but check out how adorable, and chic might I add, this girl is. Teen Vogue found her at the Peter Jensen show sponsored by Topshop. Her name is Lucy, and she wears her favorite Topshop dress. Homegirl is only 14. WHADDUP!

A Much Needed Introduction
First, I feel like descriptions hardly suffice the entirety of my being (mostly because I'm bigger in words than in real life!); however, an introduction is necessary.
My name is Jey Q., and I am completely consumed with fashion and it's ever-growing industry. I am less eloquent in person than I am on paper, so if YOU meet me, I apologize in advance for my stuttering speech. Unlike other successful fashion bloggers, I am not dressed impeccably each day, though I would be if my finances allowed for it. However, when I do gather enough items to compose a look, I'll be sure to post it. So without further adieu, please join me in my adventures [or lack thereof] in fashion and throughout my life in the days laid before me.
Sunglasses, Necklaces, Leggings: Acquired throughout Korea
Shirt: Thrifted
